Forging Stronger Connections

Despite slightly overcast skies, I had a great time meeting my online friends at the Jamuan Minum Petang 1Malaysia last month. While I hosted 300 friends in the previous event, this time, about 600 of you came to Seri Perdana to meet with me. I hope you enjoyed the event as much as I did.

Thank you to all of you who came to have tea with me at Seri Perdana. Some of you had travelled from far to attend the event and to see me. My guests seated at my table came from as far as Perlis, Sabah and Sarawak. It is always a pleasure to be able to interact with new people and getting fresh insights and feedback on what is happening on the ground. Some of you came with gifts, and some came to personally thank me for the actions the Government has taken on issues that matter to you. Thank you for the support, belief, and interest in 1Malaysia and in my work for the country. What Malaysia enjoys today in terms of harmony, integrity and unity could not have been achieved without you.

Although most of you arrived as strangers to the event, I hope you went home as friends and have since been in touch with each other. Do share this experience with your family and friends and encourage them to participate in the 1Malaysia movement.

During the event, I also held a short Q&A session with my online friends. You can view the videos here and read some of the write-ups from the guests who attended.

Insya-Allah I will host more events such as this in the coming months and hopefully be able to meet all my online friends one day. This month, I will be kickstarting the Mari Berjumpa, Mari Berhubung campaign in Sarawak, where I will meet some local online friends. Have you registered for it?
