Making Meaningful Connections
I am finally hosting another gathering with my online friends this Sunday. As you know, I had intended to host this event in November last year, but a sudden bout of chicken pox forced a change in plans. Insya-Allah, we will be able to have a good teatime session this weekend to make up for the time lost.
As the number of my online friends (like yourselves) continues to grow on Facebook and Twitter as well via my website, it is important for me to ensure that my interactions with you remain meaningful. I have been spending more time on Twitter – in the car and between appointments, before and after work – replying to Malaysians and engaging them in conversation (Yes, it is really me replying to your tweets). Although my work schedule gets quite hectic, I assure you that these simple connections mean a great deal to me.
This Sunday, at the gathering in Seri Perdana, I hope to make more meaningful connections with a few hundred friends who have until now only interacted with me online. For many of you who will not be able to join us on Sunday, I have some great news. The tea event will be streamed live through my blog! Now, although you can’t be there in person, you will be able to watch the event, including the dialogue session. I will share more details via Facebook and Twitter in the next few days on how you can watch it.
There will still be other opportunities for us to meet as I plan to host this event again soon. New dates will be announced on my website. Don’t forget to sign up for Mari Berjumpa Mari Berhubung so that we can meet somewhere a little closer to your neighbourhood. I’m quite excited to meet as many of you as possible and making more connections with my fellow Malaysians.
