The 1Week That Was (30 Jan – 5 Feb 2012)
KL, Labuan and Putrajaya should be the best showcase for Malaysia’s development planning expertise and implementation. I said this at the Federal Territories Day celebration in Dataran Merdeka.
The Genting Group Chinese New Year Dinner was to be among my last few Yee Sang dinners in this Year of the Dragon as Chap Goh Mei approached near. It was particularly memorable as I received colourful paintings from several school children.
During an eventful walkabout in Terengganu, I reiterated that the confidence of Malaysians in the ability of the BN Government is vital so that we can continue to look after the people’s welfare and develop the country to achieve a developed nation status by 2020.
Attended the 1Malaysia Ponggal Fest 2012 in Pekan. Whilst there, I called upon Malaysians to continue instilling “esprit de corps” within our communities for continuous unity and harmony in the country.
Emulating the Medina concept founded by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Malaysian Government gives preference to the people’s welfare through various 1Malaysia initiatives as well as the national transformation agenda. I admire the Prophet’s success in bringing about transformation through his love for the people and his concern for their well-being.
