Prime Minister’s Message For Chinese New Year 2015
Salam 1 Malaysia,
I would like to wish all Chinese Malaysians and everyone celebrating around the world — a Happy New Year.
The Lunar New Year is one of the biggest celebrations in our country, as it signifies the turn of the Chinese calendar, and the beginning of a new chapter in life.
It is the time when family and friends come together in celebration and in gratitude… to appreciate the old, and embrace the new.
Today we are all guests… welcomed into the homes of our Chinese neighbours, in the true spirit of 1 Malaysia, to experience the rich traditions of the Chinese culture.
My family and I have always appreciated the hospitality of Chinese Malaysians, particularly at this time of year.
To visitors who are joining us this festive season, welcome. Wherever you might find yourself in our beautiful country, I hope the distinct sights, sounds, smells and tastes of our revelry will inspire you.
Chinese New Year reminds us of the diversity that makes Malaysia extraordinary. The fabric of our nation has been woven by the various ethnicities, languages and faiths that complete Malaysia.
It is this diversity that we celebrate, cherish and protect.
And the government will continue to serve the 1Malaysia commitment of a united nation, as we near Vision 2020.
We will also continue to enhance the efficiency and integrity of our services to assist all communities.
Despite the challenges of last year, Chinese New Year represents a new beginning for Malaysia.
May the year of the peace-loving Goat bring our home continued harmony and strength in unity.
And may the year of the Goat also bring each of you happiness, prosperity and good health.
Happy New Year.
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
